Recycling idea with dishwasher baskets.

We needed to get a new dishwasher.  So, before they came to take our old dishwasher away I needed other items for storage.  I decided to take the two baskets out of the dishwasher to store all my craft frames in. It worked really well for this. I also took out the silverware basket and I used  it to hold some of my paint brushes in.  So, if you happened to be in the same situation as I was maybe you too would find this helpful of an idea as well. Or also would be interested to know what you happened to use your baskets for. Whether you used this idea or another would love for you to share.  :)>

Arts And Crafts. Snowflake Person Face, For The Snowflake Below This One.

Here is a fun craft to do with children together or independently.  If your children do not have any plans, this weekend.   If in a school setting we created a bulletin board with the finished faces.  The children placed their names on the rim of the hat.  For the snowflake you need to fold a white piece of colored paper, then trace the snowflake on with the straight edge showing on the crease of the paper.  Next cut it out without opening it. After it is completely  cut, now you can open it to see that it forms a snowflake.  The picture underneath shows how to put it all and glue together.  You can get as simple or as creative as you like, with glitter, rickrac etc. Or just use crayons.  Thanks for stopping by.  :).

Color lesson for school, home schooling or parent to have children work on

Here is an easy and creative way to have your children learn and practice how to make upper case letters etc.  First thing I did was chose a book of pages that I wanted to use.  Then, I made copies from the book I chose.  Due to the classroom I was in I colored the animals in. For they were still learning to color and I did not want the distraction of this to interfere with what I was asking them to do.  I then dotted the color words in black.  Instead of it just being a piece of paper to work on I cut contact paper or you could use laminating paper whatever you have in your class, home or store that you buy this from.  I attached it to both sides of the paper.  Then, their job was to find the correct color crayon  to trace over each color word with.  The good thing about this is that they can be used over and over again.   They can be wiped with paper towel or old sock. We would save our old lost other socks so the children or adult could erase the page after the lesson was checked by the adult.  Also this could be down sized or up sized depending on the level of each child.  As you can see in the picture that on one page I wrote on the page a couple of the children's  name.  Therefore, they needed that guidance in starting them to see and trace their name also.    If you home school and you have an older sibling to help make this that would be an accomplishment for that child in itself.  I think we all like to help and feel helpful in some way.  =].      Here is a little tip I am not sure whether it will refer to all  but I know where I live in Mass.   their is a company that makes all kinds of clear contact paper as well as color, and if you work with children in a school, church home school etc. They will offer you it for free. The thing that they ask you to do is to make a sample of craft, project or showpiece that you did with or for the children out of what they gave you.  You could also bring in a picture instead depending on what suits the individual.  Worth checking into ,and it saves a lot  of money in this area.   At any rate it gives them another way to learn hands on instead of doing all things on a computer.    Hope you enjoyed and if it fits will try it. At any rate thanks for checking in.   :).

Picture of our cat Brie, on the beam.

Somehow our cat Brielle must have known she had a vet appointment this morning.   She planted herself on the beam and would not get off.  My husband saved the day. She bats her eyes at him.  I love the way she intently looks at him, with that little sweet look and turned up nose.  =).
